The data set of the Exclusive Economic Zones can be used in many applications. In biogeography for example, it is possible to create for instance species distribution lists per country.

When all the boundary lines were constructed, the lines could be aggregated and an EEZ-polygon per country was derived. For the land-side border, the boundaries of the world countries were used, on the sea-side the boundaries were aggregated for each country.
