  • Benthic macrofauna communities, point data and modelled full-coverage distribution Community analysis is done based on the abundanec and biomass data averaged for all sampling events in within 5 km grid cell, based on the harmonised dataset that comprises data at over 7000 locations (17000 visit events) mostly sampled in period 2000-2013

  • CD-ROM covering the ROV underwater video survey of the Saturn pipeline sabellaria survey undertaken by Subsea 7 for Conocophillips in June 2003. The CD-ROM is in HTML format and contains some video footage, and a selection of stills (captured from the video). All video footage and stills are geo-referenced. The CD-ROM also contains a "Ross worm non-technical report" by BMT Cordah which outlines the extent of Saturn reef area.

  • This comprehensive map of the benthic communities of Les Glénan, is the synthesis of studies introduced by R. Pérez, from ISTPM, in 1980, to localize new fields of algae in front of increasing needs of the industry. It was finalized by P. Arzel, from Ifremer, in March and April 1985. For these studies, different methods were used: underwater diving, tidal zone photographs, field surveys. The aim of this study was to inform the CIAM (Comité Interprofessionnel des Algues Marines = Interprofessional committee of Seaweeds ) of evaluation of the resources and the potentialities of the Glenan. Elements collected in this layer correspond to the state of the knowledge in 1985. This map was digitised in 2006, as part of the REBENT programme, i.e. the surveying network for the benthic fauna and flora. The original legend is transferred to the "LEG_ORIG" attribute data field. The harmonization with the EUNIS typology is in progress, as part of the REBENT and Interreg-MESH programmes. One extra layer must be associated with this set of data: a point data layer on Cystoseira sp. et Halidrys siliquosa.

  • This biomorphosedimentary mapping of the Normandy-Brittany gulf has been drawn up according to the "carte biomorphosédimentaire de la zone intertidale au 1/25000, côte Ouest du Cotentin et Baie du Mont Saint-Michel" published in 1987 in the form of 7 maps. These maps constitute a summary of the studies carried out by the group "Estrans et Zones humides" within the framework of the Integrated Regional Studies of the Normandy-Brittany gulf. This research work was conducted under the aegis of Ifremer, in cooperation with the Geomorphology Laboratory of the " Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes " of Dinard and the Botany Laboratory of Rennes University. The prime feature of the map is the presentation of a morphosedimentary seabed through the main biosedimentary units which have been observed on the entire tidal zone, and this is supported by a multitude of field surveys. These maps were digitized in 2005, as part of the REBENT programme, i.e. the surveying network for the benthic fauna and flora. These maps have been grouped together in digital form in one set of data. The original legend is transferred to the "ORIG_HAB" attribute data field. The harmonization with the EUNIS typology is in progress, as part of the REBENT and Interreg-MESH programmes.

  • This comprehensive map of the benthic communities of Le Croisic is realized as part of the REBENT programme, i.e. the surveying network for the benthic fauna and flora. It is the result of the treatment, the analysis and the data aggregation from authors and multiple specialized agencies : - ORTHOLITTORALE 2000, - IGN data of 2000 - TOTAL FINA ELF, Pays de la Loire Region and IFREMER data of 2002, - REBENT data from 2002 to 2004, - C. Bonnot-Courtois, J. Fournier, from the CNRS and C. Rollet, J. Populus, B. Guillaumont, R. Loarer, from Ifremer in 2005. The communities' qualification is made at the level 4 of the EUNIS classification, excepted when the simple field survey allows qualifying exactly the characteristic species to the level 5. The original legend is transferred to the "ORIG_HAB" attribute data field. The harmonization with the EUNIS typology was made in 2006, as part of the REBENT and Interreg-MESH programmes.

  • This comprehensive map of the benthic communities of Les Glénan is realized as part of the REBENT programme, i.e. the surveying network for the benthic fauna and flora. It is the result of the treatment, the analysis and the data aggregation from authors and multiple specialized agencies : - ORTHOLITTORALE 2000, - IFREMER, Lidar altimetry in 2005, - M. Le Hir, S. Chauvaud, G. Robert, from the engineering firm " Télédétection et Biologie Marine " (TBM) in 2005, - N. Alloncle, student at the Brest University in 2005, - CEVA in 2004 and 2005, - Bathymetric data from SHOM, - Rebent intertidal and subtidal field studies data collected between 2003 and 2006. For these studies, various methods were used : coastal orthophotography, altimetric data from LIDAR, acoustic techniques, benthic sampling techniques, intertidal surveys. The habitat typology held for the cartography is the EUNIS classification, the European reference (October, 2004 version). In the rocky sectors, groupings of EUNIS classes were realized when the EUNIS typology was difficult to apply. It allows describing more easily the various environments. The original legend is transferred to the "ORIG_HAB" attribute data field. The harmonization with the EUNIS typology was made in 2006, as part of the REBENT and Interreg-MESH programmes.

  • This map of the coastal marine vegetation, in the Aber Wrac'h and Aber Benoît (North Brittany), is copy out from the "PEPS VEGMA Cartographie de la végétation marine côtière sur le littoral bas-léonard (Finistère Nord)" by J. Y. Piriou from Ifremer, published in 1987. It was realized as part of the "Projet d'Evaluation Préliminaire Spot - VEGétaux MArins". The objective was to define the contribution of the SPOT satellite in the cartography of the phytobenthos in coastal environment (intertidal and subtidal zone) in particular on Fucales and Laminariales. These map was digitized in 2004, as part of the REBENT programme, i.e. the surveying network for the benthic fauna and flora. The original legend is transferred to the "ORIG_HAB" attribute data field. The harmonization with the EUNIS typology is in progress, as part of the REBENT and Interreg-MESH programmes.

  • This map of the macrobenthic communities of the Seine Bay and south-central English Channel is reproduced from the map (scale = 1:117000) by Franck Gentil and Louis Cabioch from the Roscoff Oceanological Observatory, entitled "Carte des peuplements macrobenthiques de la Baie de Seine et de la Manche centrale sud" (Map of the macrobenthic communities of the Seine Bay and south-central English Channel) published in 1997. The documents, at the origin of this data set, are the result of research works made on the macrobenthic communities of the Seine Bay, as part of a systematic survey of the English Channel benthos. To realise this survey, 436 samples were collected between 1971 and 1976 on board the Pluteus II, a CNRS oceanographic vessel run by the Roscoff Biological Station (CNRS = Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique / French National Centre for Scientific Research). This map was digitized in 2003, as part of the REBENT programme, i.e. the surveying network for the benthic fauna and flora. The original legend is transferred to the "ORIG_HAB" attribute data field. The harmonization with the EUNIS typology is in progress, as part of the REBENT and Interreg-MESH programmes.

  • This map of the benthic communities in the Eastern Channel, from the Antifer Cape to the Somme Bay, is reproduced from the map (scale = 1:650000) by Louis Cabioch from the Roscoff Oceanological Observatory and René Glaçon from the Wimereux Marine Station , entitled "Peuplements benthiques des fonds non-exondables (carte provisoire)" in the Eastern Channel, published in 1977. The harmonization with the EUNIS typology is in progress, as part of the REBENT and Interreg-MESH programmes.
