Substrate classes were generated from the analysis of MBES data collected as part of the INIS Hydro project - a cross-border collaborative project between Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Multibeam echosounder backscatter was classified into acoutic clusters using QTC Multiview. Supervised classification of the acoustic classes identified from backscatter imagery into sediment classes was done using sediment samples collected during the survey.
