SEAwise EBFM toolbox (shiny app)
The SEAwise EBFM toolbox is an interactive web application developed by ICES using R Shiny. It provides open access to results from the SEAwise project, offering insights into multiple dimensions of European fisheries.
The toolbox covers the Baltic Sea, Greater North Sea, Celtic Seas, Bay of Biscay and Iberian Waters, and the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. Within these regions, users can explore projections of potential fisheries developments up to 2050 under different climate and management scenarios.
Key features include:
• Time series showing the evolving role of fisheries in the socio-economic system.
• Stock productivity models that project future stock status and identify thresholds.
• Interactive maps highlighting bycatch risk for selected PET (Protected, Endangered, and Threatened) species.
• Trade-off visualisations through Management Strategy Evaluation (MSE) figures.
By integrating these perspectives, the toolbox supports Ecosystem-Based Fisheries Management (EBFM) in Europe, combining the diverse outputs of the SEAwise project into a single, user-friendly platform.
