SalteeIsland_HD_DEF
This file shows the distribution of Annex 1 habitats - mudflats and sandflats not covered by sea water at low tide, reefs and large shallow inlets and bays - in the Saltee Islands SAC. Habitat mapping is used to help define the area and range parameters for conservation objectives. Site-specific conservation objectives aim to define favourable conservation condition for Habitats Directive Annex I habitats at a site level.

Annex 1 habitats - large shallow inlets and bays, and tidal mudflats and sandflats not covered by seawater at low tide - were delineated by combining field survey data with OSI map data and expert knowledge. Reefs were delineated from orthoimagery, LiDAR and Multibeam Echosounder bathymetric data.
